Operazione "Sotto copertura" - Operation "Undercover"

Insomma, resistenti, economiche, durature e a chilometri zero!

operazione "Desdemone"

Insomma, l'idea sembra piacere e attecchire.

It's proved. Periwinkles are perfect for my unauthorized gardening.
Pleasing to the eye until they bloom, they become awesome when they are cluttered with flowers.
They like shallow soils and are not particularly demanding in terms of irrigation.

Furthermore, they can hardly be stolen (you should always keep in mind when you practice urban gardening) and that, at least here in Quarto Inferiore, grow wild along the ditches of Old Calabria Street.
In short, they're durable, cheap (rather, for free), and local.

A starry sky
Today I've continued to improve Bagneres de Bigorre square.

In the inner part of the square, in front of the hairdresser's shop, there's a squaretree pit where they grow three large hibiscus plants.
Usually, under the foliage, wind and bad-mannered people amass lot of rubbish: wrapping, cigarette butts, chewing gum....

After doing a little cleaning and removed the weeds, I've transplanted some periwinkles collected in the morning.
After I had finished, I spotted another periwinkle. A plant that, I'm sure, there never was.
Apparently, someone has liked the idea and transplanted the plant.

Within a few weeks, so I've got confirmation that - slowly - inhabitants of Quarto Inferiore are changing their mind about their own village.
First, the mother with her child whom helped me to get rid the wreckage of the chairs thrown in the park.

Then, the double surprise of gerberas planted behind my back in the basket of "The cage", that had disappeared the next day and that have been immediately replaced with beautiful red begonias by Vania and her daughter.

Today, the pleasant finding of a periwinkle where there was none before.

In short, the idea seems to like and take root.

PS: although is not the right season, I've transplanted some irises in the bed "Zinnias in the wind" along with the inevitable periwinkles.
More periwinkles? I'm fed up with it!
