Sono appena rientrato dalla riunione della Consulta di Quarto Inferiore, cui ero stato invitato dal presidente, su indicazione del Sindaco, per parlare delle mie attivita' di giardiniere non allineato.
Ho avuto modo di spiegare le ragioni del mio giardinaggio illegale: ho puntato tutto sul fatto che non agisco in contrapposizione all'amministrazione comunale. Il mio e' un gesto positivo e propositivo, fatto con la speranza che i Cittadini di Quarto Inferiore partecipino attivamente alla manutenzione del nostro territorio.
Ancora una volta, mi sono trovato a spiegare che la mia casa va oltre il mio giardino e ho visto i presenti annuire. Annuire e sorridere.
Le proposte di collaborazione sono venute direttamente dal Sindaco e dagli altri membri della Consulta.
Innanzitutto, informare in via "ufficiale" il paese di cio' che sto facendo, tramite un articolo sul giornalino del Comune.
Poi, organizzare un'azione condivisa e partecipata, sfruttando la festa del paese, magari coinvolgendo le scuole e i ragazzi (ho scoperto che alcune piante di biancospino che oggi sono gigantesche, furono piantate anni e anni fa da una scolaresca).
Il tutto, dovrebbe iniziare a funzionare entro l'inizio dell'anno prossimo e probabilmente si organizzera' una specie di gita turistica dei giardini illegali.
Che dire?
Sono molto soddisfatto e contento.
Non tanto per la legittimazione da parte delle autorita', quanto per la possibilita' (in un certo senso) di parlare a tutta Quarto Inferiore.
Ma voglio restare coi piedi per terra.
Ora il percorso potrebbe farsi scivoloso.
Il primo pericolo, e' quello di vedermi ingabbiato in una serie di regolamenti e di autorizzazioni da richiedere prima di fare qualunque cosa.
Il secondo (non sono poi cosi' ingenuo) e' che verso maggio del prossimo anno scade il mandato dell'attuale Sindaco e farsi vedere attenti a certe tematiche, potrebbe essere un bel biglietto da visita da presentare alle successive elezioni. Tuttavia, non sono nemmeno cosi' presuntuoso da pensare che possa essere un gesto banale (banale?) come piantare un fiore o un albero, a condizionare le sorti di una tornata elettorale.
Ad ogni modo, meglio dormire con un orecchio all'erta e un occhio aperto.

I have just returned home from the meeting with the Council of Quarto Inferiore.
I had been invited by the president on the recommendation of the Mayor, to talk about my activities of unauthorized gardener.
I had the opportunity to explain the reasons for my illegal gardening: I relied everything on the fact that I don't act in opposition to the municipal administration. Mine has to be understood as a positive and proactive gesture, done with the hope that Citizens actively participate in the maintenance of our territory.
Once again, I explained to my listeners that my home is beyond my garden and I saw the presents nodding. Nodding and smiling.
The proposal of collaboration has come directly from the Mayor and the other members of the Council.
First of all, the village will be informed "officially" of what I'm doing, through an article in the newspaper of the City.
Then, we'll organize a mass action, probably during the festival of the town, perhaps involving schools and kids (I find that some plants of hawthorn that today are huge, were planted many years ago by a class).
Everything should start by early next year, probably with a kind of sightseeing of the illegal gardens.
What can I say?
I'm very satisfied and pleased.
Not so much for the legitimisation by the authorities, as to the possibility (in a sense) to talk to the entire Quarto Inferiore community.
But I want to stay grounded.
Now the path may become slippery.
The first danger is to be locked up in a series of rules and permissions to be requested before doing anything.
The second (I'm not so naive) is that around May of next year the mandate of the Mayor shall expire and show yourself careful about some issues, it might be a good card to be presented in the next election.
However, I'm not so presumptuous as to think that it may be a banal deed (banal?) like planting a flower or a tree, to influence the outcome of an election.
Anyway, better keep my eyes open.
